El Secreto Del Rey Lowry Lynch – An Amazing Book Launch
Some stories deserve being told again and again.
On June 14th, we had the amazing opportunity to launch Denis Rafter’s El Secreto Del Rey Lowry Lynch at the Imprenta Municipal, where we enjoyed the support of Irish Ambassador Frank Smyth and writer Luca Cailoli.
The story is inspired by an Irish myth, which in turn is inspired by myths from other parts of the world. As a paean to Irish and world culture, the young and young at heart will be delighted by a classic story about fitting in, a powerful message that is underpinned by the ornate illustrations of Gisselle Anderson.
The reviews are in!
Victor came to the launch, and he was kind enough to leave us a review on Amazon. He said:
I bought it for my son, but in the end, we all read it at home, and we loved it. Written with a lot of passion and with a good moral at the end of the story. I strongly recommend it.
One of our current writers also came to the launch, and he expressed his delight at the Tolkienistic impulse of using an invented language, which in this case is based on an imagined Gaelic, straddling the past and the present as well as the magical and the real.
Personally, I adore the story and was keen to publish it because of its magical quality. When I did a reading of this book to young students, I was asked by them if magic was real, and if Gaelic was the language of fairies and leprechauns. The magic in this story not only casts a spell over the readers, it also plays a fundamental part in the resolution of the story, showcasing our deep-rooted connection to nature and storytelling.
Hey, call me biased, but I give it 5 stars:

When we were finished at the launch, the director kindly gave us books as a gift. I received two beautifully bound editions: Antología and Contemplación y entrega, both by Luis Felipe Vivanco.
As you know by now, we have set up our own publishing company. You can read El Secreto Del Rey Lowry Lynch and others books on our shop. Happy reading!
